Meet Suzi Eszterhas, Wildlife Photographer Extraordinaire
— published
Bay Area-based wildlife photographer Suzi Eszterhas spends several months each year on assignment shooting images of wildlife in the field. She specializes in documenting the family life of animals, with a special emphasis on newborn animals. Best known for her photographic work in Africa, Suzi has also undertaken commissions and led photography tours and workshops around the world, from the polar regions (Antarctica and the Arctic) to the tropics (Borneo, Costa Rica) to the United States (Alaska, Montana, and the California coast).
Her photographs have been published in books, newspapers and magazines all over the world, including Time, Smithsonian, and BBC Wildlife. Her photo of a sea otter on the cover of Bay Nature in 2003 was her first of many cover shots. Recently named Ranger Rick magazine's Photographer of the Year, she is a fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers. When she’s not traveling the globe on assignment Suzi retreats to her home in Bolinas. Visit Suzi's website here.
At Bay Nature's February 9th awards dinner, Suzi will take guests on a photographic expedition along the Northern California coast, with a slideshow presentation. Join us!
