Sixth Annual Watershed Environmental Poetry Festival

Words have always helped humans connect with nature, and the Sixth Annual Watershed Environmental Poetry Festival is all about celebrating that link. On Saturday, September 8 (11 a.m.-4 p.m.) in Berkeley's Civic Center Park, former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Hass and Gary Snyder will head the list of poets, artists, and activists performing and leading activities during this free outdoor event. In addition to main stage readings and performances, the Festival's "River Village" will include nature and interactive art activities for people of all ages. The activities are sponsored by the Shorebird Nature Center, California Poets in the Schools, Ecocity Builders, Berkeley Art Festival, Integrated Arts, Poetry Flash, Brush Strokes Studio, East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse, and River of Words.
