Chanterelle Cook Off and Planning Process

Planning for this event is ongoing. Everybody is on the Committee - You included. Come and help plan the event. Planning is progressing splendidly.
Friday, February 24, there will be the community celebration of the Chanterelle and our great chefs Friday night at the Lodge. This will be hosted by local wineries. The spirit of Lillian Boss Ross will be there with a verse about catching breakfast.
Wild mushroom walk and then a cooking panel discussion will be Saturday morning at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Par and the Lodge's conference center, the Santa Lucia Center.
Grand Big Sur Chanterelle Cook Off at 1 pm in the Lodge dining room- the fantastic tasting of all the awesome Big Sur chef's creations and the incredible competition - Judged by famous chefs and food critics - with the People's Choice. Wendy Brodie, the television star chef and inspiring leader of new women's culinary movement and co-founder of Art of Cooking with her husband Bob Bussinger - will oversee and narrate the judging and competition.

In the afternoon at Ventana Inn there will be a Syrah tasting and judging at Ventana Inn with a chanterelle fashion and art show - music and an auction, followed by the Chanterelle Cook Off Awards Dinner.
Performing Friday and/or Saturday: Alisa Fineman and Kimball; Magnus' and Wally's Big Sur Hillbilly Rocker the Hot Box Players; John Zobler of Cornucopia and his great music group.
