Saturday, February 11, 2012
1:00 PM
to
2:30 PM
Bid good-bye to the overwintering shorebirds and waterfowl before they leave San Francisco Bay to return to their northern nesting grounds. Docent Jane Moss will lead you on a 1.5 mile round-trip hike along Don Edward's newest interpretive trail and introduce you to the South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project.
Trail is easy and level. All ages and abilities welcome. Meet at the Ravenswood Point parking area on the west side of the Dumbarton Bridge.
Directions:
From the East Bay:
Take 880 to Hwy 84 west. After crossing the Dumbarton Bridge, take the Ravenswood off ramp (you will be near the PG&E substation.) At the stop sign, take a right to head east on the frontage road. This road will curve and pass under Hwy 84. Parking area will be a couple of hundred feet on your right after underpass.
From the West Bay:
Take Hwy 84 east towards the Dumbarton Bridge. Take the Ravenswood exit just before the Dumbarton Bridge (note: you will not pass over the bridge!) This exit is shortly after the intersection of Hwy 84 and University Ave. Main parking area is about .4 miles on your left.
No reservations needed. For information, please call 510-792-0222 ext. 139.
