The second place winner will receive a $100 cash prize from Bay Nature and the following from Sarber's Cameras: A $50 gift certificate and a Black Rapid Strap RS-4 or RS-W1 (woman’s strap) ($60 value).
The six remaining winners will each receive $50 from Bay Nature and a $20 gift certificate from Sarber's Cameras.
Your Rights
You will retain all rights to any photograph you submit other than those rights licensed in these rules. By entering the contest, you grant to Bay Nature Institute and Sarber's Cameras:
1. Winners only grant a nonexclusive, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, and publicly display winning photographs as long we include photo credit and do not attempt to resell the rights or use the images on products meant for resale, such as calendars or framed prints or any similar products. We may also contact semi-finalists about such rights, but granting those (or not) will not affect your chances of winning.
2. The right to use your name in promotions and other publications.
Restrictions on Entries
though it's OK to upload versions at 1024 by 768, please be sure your photos are readily available in digital form with a resolution of 4 megapixels or greater. That means that the width times the height (in pixels) of the file should equal at least 4,000,000 pixels.
Enter up to 5 photos. If you tag more than 5 photos on Flickr, we will consider only the first five we find.
Photo captions must accompany all submissions, and should include the subject of the image, the date taken, the location where the image was taken, and the name of the photographer. For photos of people who are recognizable, please have names and contact information available. (If your photo is one of the finalists, we’ll ask the folks in the picture for permission to use the image in Bay Nature materials to help spread the word.)
Do not include photographs of pets or domestic animals, other than dogs or horses using the parks with human supervision. Images of captive animals photographed in zoos and commercial game farms are also prohibited.
Our preference is for photographs that accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared, though images with digital manipulation for artistic effect—if clearly identified or acknowledged—may be considered.
All published photographs will be credited with the photographer's name, but Bay Nature and Sarber's Cameras will not be liable for any errors in attribution other than to make reasonable efforts to correct such errors.
Deadlines
Entries must be tagged on Flickr by 11:59 PM Pacific Time on October 20, 2010.
