Falcated Duck turns up at Colusa National Wildlife Refuge
Video by siddsvids
Birders are flocking in from all over the country to view a male falcated duck far away from his Asian homeland. The duck, a hunted species in China, has been seen happily paddling among mallards, pintails and geese since his first siting on Dec. 8, apparently unaware of the excitement he is causing. The sickle-shaped wing feathers make him a particularly handsome attraction.
