Farming and Wildlife at the Sunol Ag Park

by Dan Rademacher

The nonprofit group Sustainable Agriculture Education, or SAGE, manages an innovative "ag park" near the town of Sunol in eastern Alameda County. On land owned by the San Francisco Water Department, SAGE works with a number of farmers and other partners in what it hopes will be a model for combining sustainable urban-edge agriculture with healthy habitats for wildlife.
